What to expect when you contact CHATT Inc.

When you call our office, or email us through our contact form on our website, you will first be connected with our Office Manager or Office Administrator. At that first contact, you will be given information around length of sessions, cost of sessions, asked about insurance (if applicable), and asked for your basic contact information. You will then be emailed an intake form, which will ask you about your reasons for seeking psychotherapy, your availability and other demographic information. One of our therapists will review your intake and your needs, and assess the best fit, based on the information given. You will then be assigned to one of our therapists, and you will be given an initial appointment. If your appointment is going to be virtual, you will be given all the information you need to get set up.

What do I bring to my first appointment?

Mainly, just YOU!  As our intake, consent and confidentiality forms are all electronic, you are all that is needed.  

What happens during counselling/psychotherapy?

You and your therapist will explore what issues are bringing you in, and an assessment will occur at the first session.  This may include your history of therapy, your past relationships, your current relationships and circumstances, and an overall history of you and your life.  Your goals will be discussed and explored and a treatment plan will start to be established at your very first session.  The purpose of counselling/psychotherapy is focused on helping you, your relationship, your children or your family, to deal with mental, emotional, and life issues, by providing a safe and confidential space to explore them, improve relationships, and advance towards personal goals. 

What happens at the end of session?

At the conclusion of your 50-minute session, you will be offered another appointment with your therapist and potential homework may be given, depending on your goals.  You will receive an invoice for your session via email and you will receive a receipt upon payment of session. 

How much does it cost?

As CHATT Inc. is a group of private therapists who work on a fee for service basis, sessions for psychotherapy are $135 dollars and are inclusive of HST (when HST is required).  Payments are made via e-transfer or credit card.  

Many clients have some form of health insurance through their place of employment, and therefore, have access to psychological benefits.  As CHATT Inc. works under the supervision of a clinical psychologist, coverage at CHATT Inc. includes psychology, social work and/or psychotherapy.  All clients must check with their health insurance to find out which coverage applies to them.  

Clients may also have Employee Assistance Program coverage that covers them and their family members.  Clients are asked to check with their employers to see if an EAP exists at their place of work and we can let you know if they are a company that we work with.

Therapy should be accessable to everyone. CHATT Inc. has partnered with Journey Well Health & Wellness to expand our Affordable Therapy Program.
