Sheila is a warm and compassionate therapist who strives to create a safe environment and therapeutic rapport, in which people can share their stories and concerns. She believes in a collaborative approach that utilizes clients’ strengths, resources, and coping strategies to empower them to work through difficult life experiences, improve symptoms, and pursue life goals. 

Sheila has held positions in vocational, psychological, and cognitive testing, case management, adult education, child and youth work. Sheila has had and leadership in community agencies, long-term care, and inpatient and outpatient mental health programs. She has diverse treatment interests including anxiety, depression, OCD, emotion regulation, trauma, personal and professional development, loss and transition, relationships, assertiveness, symptom management, psychosis, and personality disorders.  

Sheila primarily uses Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) exposure and response prevention, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), behavioural activation, and compassion-focused techniques.  She holds a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from the University of Western Ontario and a Certificate in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy in Adult Mental Health from Wilfrid Laurier University. She also has training in assessment and suicide intervention/prevention strategies.
