Many company health insurance plans, employee assistance plans, and extended health care plans provide coverage for psychological services to individuals and families. Since private coverage varies among insurers, you should contact your insurance company to find out how much coverage you have on a yearly basis and to determine if other members of your family may also be eligible for counselling services.
If you were injured in an accident, then your workplace, the government (Workplace Safety & Insurance Board – WSIB), or your automobile insurance company, may pay for your counselling sessions. Please call us to see if you qualify.
At the Community Health Assessment and Therapy Team (CHATT) Inc., our services are on a fee-for-service basis. If you do not have an insurance plan or cannot access one, then please note that psychological services are tax deductible. We will do our best to accommodate your financial needs or we will refer you to other local services. If you do pay for your counselling out of your own pocket, you may choose to save the receipts and declare them on your taxes as a medical expense.
If you have any questions regarding your insurance coverage or our fees, please call for further information and we would be pleased to help.
