Special Interest in Compassionate Grief Support

Faye is a Registered Nurse, who has worked in both community and hospital care settings, and is passionate about supporting those who are struggling in processing their loss experience. She offers a caring and compassionate approach to support you in moving forward and living with your loss. She utilizes the companioning model of grief support where you, the griever, are the expert in your loss experience and works with you to identify the best approach to process and integrate your unique loss. Whether you just need someone to talk to about your grief experience, or a more in-depth approach, both grief support or grief counselling can be provided.

She completed her Nursing Degree and later a degree in hanatology (the study of death, grief, and bereavement) through the Western University in London. She is registered with the College of Registered Nurses of Ontario and a member of the Registered Nurses Association of Ontario. Since graduation, she has completed a certificate in Death and Grief studies through the University of Colorado with Dr. Alan Wolfelt, and is actively working on a certificate in Grief Therapy as Meaning Reconstruction through the Portland Institute in Oregon. She provides a companioning approach, and offers the options of compassion-based therapy, and a faith-based grief support approach.

In addition, over the course of her life she has experienced several death and non-death losses that provide a personal lived experience in dealing with grief. All of these have helped to inform her passion and practice in supporting others in their grief journey.
